HOSPICE OF DAVIDSON COUNTY WELCOMES NEW DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES

LEXINGTON, N.C. – Nov. 15, 2016 – Hospice of Davidson County, a recognized leader in the advancement of quality end-of-life care across the Piedmont Triad region, recently welcomed DeeDee Shook as its new Director of Human Resources.

Shook is responsible for Human Resources leadership to the agency by overseeing the development and implementation of HR policies, programs and services including: recruitment, selection, retention, legal compliance, employee benefits, compensation, employee relations, employment practices and procedures, employee communications and events.

Shook, a Davidson County resident, brings more than 25 years of Human Resources experience to Hospice of Davidson County. She previously worked with start-up and high growth manufacturing facilities such as Talon of NC, LLC, TIMCO, ATRIUM WINDOWS & DOORS and spent 13 years with Lexington Furniture Industries. 

Shook played a key role in insuring the successful startup of two manufacturing facilities and the merging of three corporate office sites into one. 

She is a graduate of Salem College with a bachelor’s of science in business administration, Davidson Community College with associates of applied science in business administration and holds a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certificate.

Hospice of Davidson County cares for more than 100 patients every day in a variety of locations including private homes, long-term care and skilled-nursing facilities and at the Hinkle Hospice House.

Hospice of Davidson County celebrated its 30th anniversary year in 2015, and much has changed over the last three decades. In 2009, Hospice of Davidson County moved to its existing location off of US Highway 64 East in Lexington, N.C. and opened the county's only inpatient hospice facility, The Henry Etta & Bruce Hinkle Hospice House.
