VOLTAGE BROTHERS, SOL FUSION TO KICK OFF CIRCLE K AND KANGAROO SPEED STREET PRESENTED BY COCA-COLA ON THURSDAY, MAY 26

Admission Free to Two High-Energy Bands in Uptown Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (March 15, 2016) – Two bands famous for powerful and wide-ranging performances will be center-stage for Thursday night of Circle K and Kangaroo Speed Street presented by Coca-Cola in Uptown Charlotte May 26.

The two bands, The Voltage Brothers and Sol Fusion, will kick off three days of Circle K and Kangaroo Speed Street presented by Coca-Cola entertainment with a high-energy show, full of familiar songs, great vocals and powerful horn sections. Admission is free.

The Voltage Brothers are often referred to as “America’s No. 1 show band,” performing top hits from most every genre. Sol Fusion, playing in its hometown of Charlotte, will impress with hits from decades past and today’s radio hits.

“This is going to be an awesome way to open Circle K and Kangaroo Speed Street presented by Coca-Cola,” said Jay Howard, president of JHE Production and 21-year producer of the annual event. “The Voltage Brothers and Sol Fusion are going to bring such a party feel to Uptown Charlotte. It’s the type of music everyone is going to enjoy. It’s going to be a fun night.”

The Voltage Brothers’ play list covers a wide range including rhythm and blues, Carolina beach music, disco, funk, Motown and even classic rock hits.

They have appeared with a vast variety of artists like Frank Sinatra, The Temptations, Kool & The Gang, Gladys Knight and the Pips and Earth, Wind and Fire. They have performed at two presidential inaugurations and nine Super Bowls.

Sol Fusion is an 11-piece musical dynamo, with a four-piece rhythm section, a three-piece horn section and four interchangeable lead vocalists which allows them to perform everything from R&B to beach music to pop, rock and even country.

The Thursday, May 26 kickoff to Circle K and Kangaroo Speed Street presented by Coca-Cola featuring the Voltage Brothers and Sol Fusion is free to the public and will be on Coca-Cola’s second stage, located on Levine Avenue at the intersection with Tyron Street.

Circle K and Kangaroo Speed Street presented by Coca-Cola continues on Friday, May 27, and Saturday, May 28.

Country star Chris Young with special guest Montgomery Gentry will perform on May 27 while county/pop sibling sensations The Band Perry and Kellie Pickler will perform May 28. Concert tickets for these two nights are $15 and may be purchased at www.600festival.com.

The Coca-Cola main stage will be located in the parking lot near the corner of South Tryon Street and East Stonewall Street during the May 26-28 festival. Concert gates open each night at 6 p.m.
