Marketing Communications Account Manager (Temporary Position)

Status: Estimated 30-35 hours a week
Timeline: Approximately Dec. 1 – March 1. Initial incorporation in the program may begin earlier with select hours.
Work Experience: 5-7 years of experience in related field
Education Level: BS/BA in Communications, PR, Marketing, Journalism or similar field
Location: Charlotte, N.C.

Function:

  • Communications and marketing support locally and nationally for nonprofit Cell Phones For Soldiers.
  • Prepares and distributes media materials, such as press releases, media alerts and similar items, to various media segments. A monthly media report also is compiled for the client.
  • Develops and manages media relationships, which includes pitching and organizing media interviews, press conferences, media roundtables, briefing sessions and other media activities.
  • Donor management for top-tier sponsors as well as engagement and support for smaller corporate partners. Outreach to new potential partners is often required.
  • Ensuring partners, new donors, websites, etc. utilize the proper brand also is of importance.
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of marketing programs, materials, monthly newsletter, updating website content and advertising.
  • Management of social media program.
  • Leverage corporate events as brand-building opportunities and cultivate cause-marketing partnerships.
  • Additional writing tasks include writing and submitting award entries, email responses, etc.
  • Program supervision tasks including weekly database management, conduct weekly client calls, status reports, etc.
