BOSTON (May 4, 2015) –Greek storyteller Aesop once said, “No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.”

KIND Snacks and Cell Phones For Soldiers couldn’t agree more. The snack maker and the nonprofit supporting troops and veterans kicked off a campaign Friday, May 1 to show America’s bravest our appreciation for their sacrifice.

During National Military Appreciation Month, citizens are encouraged to tweet thank you notes to active-duty troops and veterans using the #thankskindly hashtag. Every tweet with the #thankskindly hashtag will garner a $1 donation from KIND to Cell Phones For Soldiers, up to $10,000.

Then, tweets are turned into handwritten notes with the help of an innovative robot from Bond – a start-up driven to create technology that strengthens bonds between people.

Showcasing America’s gratitude, KIND and Cell Phones For Soldiers will deliver the personalized notes through the nonprofit’s calling card program and distribution at veteran shelters nationwide.

The #thankskindly campaign culminates Thursday, May 21 when KIND and the Boston Red Sox celebrate Cell Phones For Soldiers at Fenway Park.

“Robbie and Brittany’s commitment to serving those who serve us has inspired the entire KIND team. We’re excited to support them through #thankskindly, and hope the campaign catalyzes others to get out of their comfort zone and spread kindness.” said Director of KIND’s social mission, the KIND Movement Dana Rosenberg.

“We are humbled by the support of KIND, especially given our shared values” said Robbie Bergquist, co-founder of Cell Phones For Soldiers. “This campaign is a reminder to each of us to show our gratitude to our service members, veterans and their families. One simple tweet can inspire those serving our great country.”
