Charlotte, N.C. (Feb. 11, 2015) – This year, treat your Valentine to more than just flowers or a stuffed bear with help from the local Girl Scouts, Hornets’ Nest Council troops. Girl Scout cookies will be available via booth sales beginning Feb. 14, 2015, at retail stores, grocery stores and other local businesses.

Serving more than 22,000 girls and adults, the Girl Scouts, Hornet’s Nest Council operates in eight North Carolina and South Carolina counties including Anson, Cabarrus, Mecklenburg, Montgomery, Rowan, Stanly, Union and York.

Through the Girl Scouts cookie program, young female entrepreneurs learn essential business skills that help shape their futures as leaders including setting goals, making decisions on where to sell, managing their money, interacting with customers and adhering to strict business ethics.
